Okay, so maybe the 90s weren’t 100% awesome; there are some things we’d rather forget. But there are so many MORE things to remember and celebrate! Pokemon! Image Comics! Super Nintendo! Tamagotchi! YTV’s The Zone! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

These are the memories that the Winnipeg Pop Culture Expo will inspire April 9th & 10th at the RBC Convention Centre. Our unique collection of artists, vendors and guests will bring all their pop culture-inspired art, collectibles and stories to share with you.

Guests appearing at the Winnipeg Pop Culture Expo include:

Kenn Scott is best known for his portrayal of Raphael in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. He also earned international acclaim for his starring role in the cult martial arts hit Showdown, and has starred in many other martial arts films. Scott also writes and directs, including the award-winning feature film Adventures of Johnny Tao, as well as the Sniper reality TV series on The Discovery and History Channels.

Phil Guerrero launched YTV’s popular after school program The Zone in 1991, and continued on as its host until 1999 (he was not Y2K compatible!) PJ Fresh Phil’s segments in between our favourite cartoons included celebrity interviews, sketches, and improvised comedy with his inanimate co-host Snit. His engaging personality made The Zone the success that it is (still going 25 years later!) and entertained an entire generation of children. Guerrero continues to work as a TV and web personality out of Toronto.

The Winnipeg Pop Culture Expo also continues C4’s tradition of creating original programming to entertain, inform and inspire. You’ll be able to take part in retro gaming tournaments, Q&A sessions for both our special guests, industry panels, trivia competitions, a costume contest and more, all for FREE!

Tickets for the Winnipeg Pop Culture Expo are available at Ticketmaster for $10 (day) or $18 (weekend) BUT follow C4 on Facebook for your chance to win tickets AND a private meet n’ greet session with Kenn Scott and PJ Phil!

So, see you on the 9th and 10th to re-live the 90s. And don’t worry, no one will judge you for rockin’ the Zubaz pants.

Yeah. This was a thing. Zubaz.
