John Gallagher is an entertainment illustrator based out of Vancouver BC. He creates art for film, television, games, animation and comics in various capacities, including visual development, concept design, sequential and storyboarding art, illustration, keyframes and cinematics. John began his career in video game development as a concept designer at BioWare nearly twenty years ago, and after fourteen games in nine years it was time for a change. He migrated to film in 2008 and has been in that industry full-time ever since.
John has worked on many sci-fi shows such as Defying Gravity, Eureka, Falling Skies, Fear Itself, Myths and Monsters, Once Upon A Time, The Flash and V.
As an artist, he likes to keep things simple: useing both analog and digital toolboxes to help creative teams tell their stories and solve diverse visual challenges. Whatever the story, whatever the genre, John works quickly and effectively. He is always trying out some new technique and messing around with his software toolbox. He never does the same illustration twice, always mixing it up by keeping the material challenges front and centre.
